"The professional soldier gains more and more power as the general courage of a community declines. As it was in ancient Rome, so it is in contemporary Europe (America today). There was never a time when nations were more militaristic; there was never a time when men were less brave. Militarism demonstrated the decadence of Rome and it demonstrates the decadence of Prussia." G.K. Chesterton, Heretics 1905, pg.19
In 1905 G.K. Chesterton wrote this almost 10 years before the onset of World War I. He was a modern day seer and prophet of his time, that wrote about the state of affairs not only for his time, but even for today as well.
For it seems that there is a general pattern that accompanies the ebb and flow of humanity as it progresses and regresses throughout the general flow of time.
Chesterton makes a very valid point that only the wise seem to grasp. This being that as the general population of a society becomes less and less brave, or willing to fight for the general good of that society's ends, there is generally two other aspects that accompany the decline of a nation's general courage: decadence through affluence and an increased militaristic agenda.
Chesterton makes note that as a society's decadence increases, through great affluence, their general idea for increased militarism and the power that is diverted to the military also increases due to the general decrease or lack of the military virtue in the common man/woman. This virtue is not meant to be taken in the strict literal meaning of military per se, but more as the self discipline and self control that in general any military has or needs.
He also references Rome and Prussia, both of which also fell into this mold of which he spoke. Both of these powerful civilizations in their latter years were also plunged into both decadence and increased militaristic campaigns, while the general populace became weaker, softer, lethargic and apathetic.
Chesterton's description of Rome and Prussia accurately describe the stages of decline world powers seem to always go through. The United States today is going through the exact same stages of decline and is actually at the stage all past and powerful civilizations where right before their ultimate demises.
For just as these other world powers were also infected with the same parasitic mental states and self-destructing philosophies that humanism, secularism and atheism bring, so too today is the U.S. and the rest of the western world filled with the same Trojan horse syndromes.
Just as those civilizations were over stretched militaristicaly trying to conquer the world and form new world orders in their images, so too today is the U.S. overly involved and overstretched militaristicaly attempting to form the Illuminati's vision of their new world order.
Just as those past powers became filled with societies that allowed for cowardly, childish, immature and self aggrandizing souls to lead them into perdition, so too today do you have western societies filled with the same kind of brave less individuals that would much rather be entertained than fight for a noble cause.
For any civilization that has lost sight of their history, has lost sight of their objectives. Any civilization that has completely lost the moral war, will also lose any military wars, regardless of how mighty their arsenal. Remember Egypt, Rome, Greece, Prussia, etc. Any civilization that has embraced apathy, lethargy, and a sense of entitlement, is one that will be forced to embrace defeat, destruction and exile at the hands of their most cruel enemies.
Today we are much closer to a third world war than at any other time in the history of mankind. For even as I write these words, there are already plans for the coming nuclear confrontations, and those nations (just as in Chesterton's time a century ago) that have fallen into the mold of immorality, decadence and the philosophy of militarism in an attempt to conquer the world, will once again be forced to drink the bitter wine of defeat.
