The bombing runs took place several times on Tuesday. Turkey has not said if - or how many - troops were injured or killed.
Russia flatly denied any of its war planes conducted the air strikes. The United States says neither it nor any of its "coalition partners" conducted the airstrikes. Syria says its forces did not conduct the attacks.
Yet the attacks took place.
Beginning last August, Turkey announced it was sending its troops into Syria "to defend itself from terrorists." For months afterwards, the same Turkish government repeatedly claimed it was in Syria to "attack terrorists."
Yet last week, speaking in Istanbul, Turkish President Recypt Erdogan, publicly stated that his troops went into Turkey "to end (President Bashar) Assad's rule."
After those remarks were made public, underlings from the Turkish government in Ankara, actually told the world media that Erdogan's comments should not be taken seriously.
It now appears that someone has taken them seriously.
What the world is seeing right now is troops from a sovereign nation, Turkey, operating unlawfully inside Syria, are being attacked by military aircraft and no one is claiming responsibility for it!

Syria’s state television says Israeli military aircraft have targeted an airbase near the capital Damascus.
The attack took place on Wednesday, the television reported, verifying earlier unconfirmed reports that the Israeli air force had launched the raid against the el-Mezzeh outpost from the Lebanese airspace.
Large explosions rang out after the attack. Syria’s al-Ikhbariyah television channel said the explosions hit fuel depots at the base.
Lebanese al-Mayadeen channel, meanwhile, reported that Israeli airstrikes had hit an important Syrian military airport in the capital.
Last week, Israeli fighter jets carried out missile attacks from Lebanese skies against two targets close to the highway connecting Damascus to the Lebanese capital Beirut. Syria’s official news agency SANA cited an unnamed military source as saying that the missiles fell on the Saboura area west of Damascus.
The source said the Israeli assault was an attempt to “divert attention away from the successes of” government forces on the battleground against Takfiri militants.

airport, west of Damascus, was hit by several waves of airstrikes around
4:15am, according to reports from Syria and Arabic-language social
media on Wednesday morning. The reports said neither the aircraft
nor the number of planes in each wave could be identified bacause of the
darkness. The reports included pictures of flames and pillars of smoke
rising from the airport, while videos of the aftermath showed secondary
explosions indicating that depots containing ammunition, bombs or
missiles had been attacked. There was no comment from Israel regarding
the destruction of the weapons depots, just as it did not comment on
Tuesday's attacks on Hizballah positions in Zabadani, north of the

Syria’s state television says Israeli military aircraft have targeted an airbase near the capital Damascus.
The attack took place on Wednesday, the television reported, verifying earlier unconfirmed reports that the Israeli air force had launched the raid against the el-Mezzeh outpost from the Lebanese airspace.
Large explosions rang out after the attack. Syria’s al-Ikhbariyah television channel said the explosions hit fuel depots at the base.
Lebanese al-Mayadeen channel, meanwhile, reported that Israeli airstrikes had hit an important Syrian military airport in the capital.
Last week, Israeli fighter jets carried out missile attacks from Lebanese skies against two targets close to the highway connecting Damascus to the Lebanese capital Beirut. Syria’s official news agency SANA cited an unnamed military source as saying that the missiles fell on the Saboura area west of Damascus.
The source said the Israeli assault was an attempt to “divert attention away from the successes of” government forces on the battleground against Takfiri militants.

Russia and China have vetoed a UN Security Council resolution on
an immediate seven-day ceasefire in the Syrian city of Aleppo. The
Russian Foreign Minister described the draft resolution as

11 members of the UNSC, voted in favor of the document. The draft
resolution, submitted by Egypt, Spain and New Zealand, proposed an

HMEYMIM (Sputnik) — Syrian government troops assumed full control of a city on the southwestern outskirts of Damascus and 13 nearby villages in the past 24 hours, the Syria-based Russian reconciliation center said Friday. "Against the backdrop of Syrian army successes in the liberation of eastern districts of Aleppo from armed groups, militants stop fighting in other parts of Syria," the center said.

"Since December 1, 2016, the city of Khan Alsheh 15 kilometers [9 miles]
from Damascus and 13 surrounding settlements have come under the full

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with government
forces fighting the Syrian opposition groups striving to overthrow
President Bashar Assad. In parallel, Damascus has to counter numerous
extremist groups, in particular, Daesh — a terrorist group outlawed in
Russia and many other counties.

Laying soaking wet beneath a bench, Isaac McCord found a page ripped from the Bible. Not all of the verses on the lone sheet were legible, but the verses that were clear enough to make out seemed ominously relevant. According to a Facebook post by McCord, the verses read:
McCord called on his co-worker, Misty Carver, to come have a look.
“We were, like, this is unreal, this is unbelievable. When we had both fully read it, we looked at each other — and I will never forget this moment — we both burst into tears. I was ghost white, and we just prayed. There was nothing else to do,” McCord said.
“Still to this moment, almost four hours after the fact, I don’t have words for it,” he added.
McCord posted a picture of the page on Facebook, along with the hashtag, “PrayForGatlinburg.”
One commenter on McCord’s post wrote: “It looks like God is speaking.” Another called it a “divine warning.”
So far, the wildfires have claimed at least three lives and left thousands of acres scorched.
A National Park Service spokeswoman said Tuesday night that the fires in and around Great Smoky Mountain National Park were “human caused.”
