A senior Iranian official on Wednesday warned of an impending “third world war” that will be sparked by terrorists, according to regional reports.
Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the chairman of Iran’s powerful Expediency Council, warned in comments that the “outbreak of World War III” is coming in the near future, according to a report by Iran’s Fars News Agency.

President Barack Obama has authorized US air strikes to defend a small band of Pentagon-trained mercenaries inside Syria, including against any potential attack by Syrian government forces.
The blanket permission for employing US air power, ostensibly in support of less than 60 “rebels” who have been trained, armed and paid by the US military supposedly to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), paves the way for a dramatic escalation of the war for regime change against the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad.
The new rules of engagement go further than what the US Air Force has already put into practice. “For offensive operations, it’s ISIS only,” a senior military official told the Wall Street Journal. “But if attacked, we’ll defend them against anyone attacking them. We’re not looking to engage the regime[SYRIA], but we’ve made a commitment to help defend these people.”
A Pentagon spokesman, Capt. Jeffrey Davis, confirmed the Journal report Monday, declaring that the US military would provide defensive fire in support of the “New Syrian Force,” as Washington refers to its mercenaries, “no matter whom they come up against.”
White House National Security spokesman Alistair Baskey said that the Obama administration was making it clear that it will “take the steps necessary to protect them,” including through “defensive fire support.”

Russia Ready To Send Paratroopers To Syria

As Syria’s civil war enters its fourth year, it’s become something of an open secret that ISIS, for all their bluster and Hollywood-level video editing capabilities, are at best an unhappy side effect of efforts to train and arm the Syrian resistance and at worst, are a "strategic asset" funded and supported by coalition governments.
In other words, there is indeed a geopolitical chess match going on here that will have far-reaching consequences when the blood and dust settle, but it has nothing to do with ISIS’ far-fetched quest to establish a Medieval caliphate and everything to do with installing a government in Syria that will be more friendly to the interests of the West and its Middle Eastern allies.
ISIS will remain in play as long as they are necessary, but once the time comes for the US to clean up the mess left by Syria’s three-front war once and for all, that will be all she wrote for this particular CIA asset. Until then, everyone apparently gets to use Islamic State as an excuse to pursue their own political agenda, as evidenced by Turkey’s new war on "terrorists." Not wanting to miss an opportunity to justify what would otherwise be a rather brash declaration, Russia is reportedly ready to send in the paratroopers should Syria request Moscow’s help in battling terrorist elements. The Russian Airborne Troops are ready to assist Syria in countering terrorists, if such a task is set by Russia’s leaders, commander of the Airborne Troops Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov told reporters on Tuesday.
 "Of course we will execute the decisions set forth by the country’s leadership, if there is a task at hand," Shamanov said, in response to a Syrian reporter’s question about the readiness of the Russian Airborne Troops to render assistance to Syria’s government in its battle against terrorism.

Shamanov noted that Russia and Syria have "long-term good relations." "Many Syrian experts, including military, received education in the Soviet Union and in Russia," Shamanov added.

In other words, two (or three, or four) can play at the "use ISIS as an excuse to go to war with our real enemies" game and just like the US can send in trainers and "forward spotters" to protect its interests in Iraq, so too can Russia send in a few airborne troops to protect its interests in Damascus.
It’s now only a question of political will and as we’ve outlined on a few occasions recently, it’s not entirely clear how much longer Vladimir Putin is willing to support Bashar al-Assad in the face of the debilitating, Saudi-engineered slump in crude prices and the biting economic sanctions imposed on the Kremlin by Europe.


SO THIS IS THE BREAKDOWN OF WHAT IS CURRENTLY ESCALATING IN SYRIA. 4 DAYS AGO, OBAMA AND THE PENTAGON SAID THAT THEY WILL NOW BE CONDUCTING AIRSTRIKES ON ANY, THAT'S THE KEY WORD, FORCES THAT MIGHT INTERFERE WITH THEIR SUPPOSEDLY TRAINED "MODERATE" SYRIAN REBELS IN SYRIA, EVEN IF IT MEANS STRIKING ASSAD'S FORCES.
THIS HAS BEEN THE INTENTION ALL ALONG, HENCE THE REASON "ISIS" WAS FORMED IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE CREATION OF THIS PHONY "MODERATE SYRIAN REBEL GROUP, WHICH IS REALLY THIS TERROR GROUP, CAME AS A RESULT OF THE FACT THAT WAY BACK IN SEPTEMBER OF 2013, THE U.S. WAS ON THE VERGE OF ATTACKING ASSAD'S FORCES DIRECTLY DUE TO THE PHONY CHARGE THAT HE HAD USED CHEMICAL WEAPONS AGAINST HIS OWN PEOPLE.
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DID NOT BUY THIS PHONY PRETEXT, AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, RUSSIA SENT WARSHIPS TO THEIR SYRIAN BASE IN TARTUS AS A SIGN THAT THEY WERE READY TO DEFEND ASSAD.
THE U.S. HAD TO BACKTRACK, AND THEY EVENTUALLY BACKED DOWN AND HAD TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO "SKIN THIS CAT."
THE ANSWER THEY CAME UP WITH WAS ISIS.
THEY BEGAN TO FUND THIS SO CALLED "SYRIAN MODERATE ARMY" WHICH IN REALITY BECAME THE BASIS FOR THE LATER TERROR GROUP. BUT THIS GROUP WAS TO SERVE AS THE PERFECT PRETEXT TO ATTACK AND INVADE SYRIA AND ANY OTHER COUNTRY THEY WISHED TO DO SO.
A WEEK AGO, TURKEY, ISRAEL AND JORDAN FINALLY TOOK ACTION AGAINST SYRIA, ALL UNDER THE PHONY TERROR CREATION PRETEXT.
FOUR DAYS AGO, OBAMA AND THE U.S. EXPANDED THEIR AGENDA IN SYRIA UNDER THE PRETEXTS AS STATED ABOVE IN THE FIRST ARTICLE, AS A COVER TO DEFEND AND ATTACK ANY FORCE THAT THREATENS THEIR MERCENARIES IN THE REGION.
RUSSIA NOW IS SAYING, "YOU KNOW WHAT, WE TOO SEE ISIS AS A THREAT AND IF THE SYRIAN GOV'T SAYS THEY NEED OUR HELP, WE ARE SENDING IN OUR TROOPS TO ATTACK THOSE TERROR GROUPS!"


THIS WILL BE A BIG TURNING POINT BECAUSE THE LAST THING THE U.S. WANTS OR NEEDS IS RUSSIA GOING IN AND ATTACKING THEIR MERCENARY FORCES, BUT THEY CAN'T ON THE ONE HAND SAY WE ARE IN SYRIA TO FIGHT THIS TERROR GROUP, AND AT THE SAME TIME DENY RUSSIAN FORCES THE VERY SAME OBJECTIVES, BECAUSE THIS WOULD GIVE THEIR TRUE INTENTIONS AWAY.


PUTIN AND LAVROV KNOW HOW TO COUNTER EVERY U.S. MOVE PERFECTLY, AS THEY ARE THE CHESS PLAYERS, AND OBAMA IS AT THE VERY BEST A POOR CHECKERS PLAYER.
